About
DisConcert Presents
Were thrilled to bring legendary American primitive guitar player Glenn Jones to Worthing alongside Liam Grant and Sam Grassie, blasting forth from the latest wave of folk guitar, taking wood and steel in interesting directions.
Glenn Jones
Glenn Jones is a unique player of the Takoma school old-guard. Whats really special is his boundary-less and painterly approach to the acoustic guitar and banjo, with compositions like short stories, rife with beauty and cinematic twists and turns. Glenn has released 10 widely acclaimed LPs and collaborated with legendary figures such as Damo Suzuki (Can), John Fahey and Jack Rose, as well as featured on NPRs Tiny Desk Concert series.
Liam Grant
A true DIY-er and road warrior emerging from the latest revival of American Primitive guitar, Liam plays 12 string and Weissenborn Lap-steel guitar, with the technical prowess and rolling confidence of a galloping horse. Infused with the spirit of his native New England and the melodic traditions of country bluegrass, ragtime and blues - Liam goes beyond on raga-infused excursions into heady euphoric zones.
Sam Grassie
Finger-style guitar troubadour from Glasgow, Scotland now based in London, and part of Broadside Hacks folk collective. Gaining a reputation on the circuit for his masterful playing and raw approach. Recently featured on BBC Radio 2, Songlines, KLOF mag amongst others.
