About
Drift Tide Form is a free group ceramics exhibition brought together by Brighton-based ceramic artist, sculptor and teacher Annie Lyle, alongside eight ceramicists who have come through her Ula Ceramics workshops. It is the first time the group has shown together.
The work is all handbuilt using traditional coiling and slabbing techniques, and explores themes of the sea, landscape, body and memory. Clay sits at the heart of the exhibition as a living, connective material shaped by touch, presence and time.
Annie Lyle says: "This exhibition grew out of something really simple - people coming together in the evenings, getting their hands in clay, and finding a creative voice they didn't know they had. Showing alongside these artists for the first time feels like a celebration of everything those workshops have become."
