About

Join artist Luke Hannam, Director of Practise Room, for an intensive day dedicated to the art of pure drawing, where you'll try your hand at techniques designed to elevate your line work to new heights.

You'll explore how line creates form, unlocking the expressive potential of your drawings, and delve into the concept of 'lyricism', a philosophical approach, which aims to infuse your work with emotion and vitality. As you sharpen your skills, you will focus on strengthening your hand-eye coordination, an essential component for any artist, while also gaining insights into 20th-century drawing styles.

Luke will guide you in incorporating these influences into your own work, enhancing your ability to draw with confidence and creativity.

Henrietta Roeder Co Director of Practise Room will be teaching alongside Luke Hannam exploring the intuitive relationship with materials and subject.

The workshop includes an exclusive tour of the modernist home and studio at Charleston, providing a glimpse into its rich artistic history, along with all the materials you'll need to bring your creations to life.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including a delicious lunch made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
