About

We want all visitors to experience and discover Charleston in their own way. After a brief introduction in our welcome room, you are free to navigate around the house independently for as long as you wish.

Tickets grant you access within a flexible 30 minute time slot. No need to rush - you can arrive at any time within your half hour and explore the house at your leisure.

We also offer intimate guided tours which take place daily and start at 9.45am.

Find out more about our guided tours here.

Please note Charleston closes at 5pm. This includes the house, garden, gallery, shop and café. If you wish to explore other areas, please take this into consideration when planning your visit and allow enough time. We highly recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment.

Please note that scaffolding is currently in place around parts of the house as part of our Studio 100 conservation work. This does not affect access to the house or your visit. Read more about the project here.

Watch Katy Hessel, curator, art historian and founder of @thegreatwomenartists, explore the house whilst she looks back on the extraordinary life and pioneering work of artist Vanessa Bell.
