About

Few figures in modern British politics provoke as much passion, debate and reflection as Jeremy Corbyn. In this timely and thought-provoking session, the former Leader of the Labour Party draws on a lifetime of campaigning to explore the deepening inequalities shaping Britain today from the housing crisis and regional poverty to insecure work, failing public services and the widening gap between wealth and opportunity.

Corbyn argues that inequality is not an inevitability but a political choice one that can be reversed through bold action, democratic engagement and a renewed commitment to social justice. With characteristic directness, moral clarity and an encyclopaedic command of grassroots issues, he examines how the UK reached its current state, what has been lost in the erosion of community and public provision, and how a more equal and compassionate society can still be built.
This session invites audiences to think beyond short-term politics and instead consider the long arc of justice: What kind of country do we want to be? What does fairness look like in the 2020s? And what role can ordinary citizens play in shaping a future that works for everyone?

Expect a compelling blend of political analysis, personal insight, and rallying-call optimism from one of Britains most recognisable voices on equality and human dignity.

Jeremy Corbyn is a British politician and long-standing Member of Parliament for Islington North, first elected in 1983. He served as Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition from 2015 to 2020, during which Labour achieved its largest vote-share increase since 1945. Known for his lifelong commitment to social justice, peace, workers rights and economic equality, he has spent decades campaigning against austerity, poverty, homelessness and discrimination both in the UK and internationally.

Before becoming a national figure, Corbyn worked as a trade union organiser and community activist. Throughout his parliamentary career he has been recognised for his independence of thought, grassroots organising style, and passionate advocacy for the marginalised. He currently leads the Peace and Justice Project, an organisation promoting social equality, climate justice, international cooperation and community empowerment.

Whether admired or contested, Jeremy Corbyn remains a defining figure in British public life and one of the countrys most persistent voices for fairness, equality and social change.

A Q&A session will follow.
