About
A defining talk from one of British politics' most consequential and controversial figures and the man who just won a second parliamentary term as an independent.
What does it mean to build a genuinely grassroots political movement outside the two-party system? What are the principles that should guide a left politics in an age of inequality, climate crisis and democratic disillusionment? And what has Jeremy Corbyn learned from his years leading Labour, from the battles within his own party, and from his remarkable return as an independent MP about the possibilities and the limits of progressive change in Britain today?
In this wide-ranging and unfiltered talk, Corbyn sets out the vision animating his Independent Alliance and what he believes a genuine alternative politics must look like: rooted in community, committed to peace, and unafraid to challenge the economic consensus that has left so many behind. He will address the issues that define his political project from the housing crisis and NHS underfunding to Britain's role in international conflicts and the case for a foreign policy built on diplomacy rather than arms sales.
Drawing on decades at the heart of British political life as a backbench rebel, a party leader who came within reach of Downing Street, and now as a figurehead for a new kind of independent left politics Corbyn offers a frank and personal account of what he still believes, what he has revised, and why he remains convinced that another politics is possible.
Whether you are a long-standing supporter, a sceptic, or simply curious about one of the most debated figures in modern British politics, this is an unmissable opportunity to hear Corbyn speak without script or spin about the values and the vision that have defined his remarkable political life. Expect a talk that challenges comfortable assumptions about power, party and what democratic politics is really for.
Jeremy Corbyn served as Leader of the Labour Party from 2015 to 2020, having represented Islington North as a Labour MP since 1983 one of the longest-serving members of his generation. A consistent voice on the left throughout the Blair and Brown years, he was elected Labour leader in a landslide membership vote that transformed the party and redefined the terms of British political debate. His 2017 general election campaign, widely written off as unwinnable, produced a remarkable swing and denied Theresa May her majority. Following the 2019 defeat he stood down as leader, and was subsequently suspended from and ultimately had the whip removed by the Labour Party. In 2024 he stood as an independent in Islington North and won, defeating the Labour candidate in one of the most closely watched contests of that election. He has since become the figurehead of a broader independent political movement. He remains one of the most recognisable and in-demand political speakers in the country.
