Journeys Festival of Dance

About

Free | Family Friendly | Outdoor Performances

Journeys Festival of Dance returns to East Sussex this September with three days of high-quality, outdoor dance performances in public spaces across Uckfield, Hailsham and Bexhill. Produced by local event producers 18 Hours, the festival brings together internationally acclaimed companies and inspiring local talent to celebrate movement, music and community.

• Thursday 26 Sept, Uckfield – Simple Cypher open the festival with 'Roll Play', a playful fusion of circus and hip hop at Bridge Cottage. Expect explosive tricks, cheeky energy and jaw-dropping skill.

• Friday 27 Sept, Hailsham – O'Driscoll Collective perform 'One%', a powerful breakdance and hip hop theatre piece exploring mental health and emotional connection. Local students from Sjaan Dance Academy will also perform.

• Saturday 28 Sept, Bexhill – The festival finale at De La Warr Pavilion features Sujata Banerjee Dance Company with excerpts from 'The Goddess of Swan Lake', a bold reimagining of Tchaikovsky's classic through Indian Kathak dance, rich in storytelling and rhythm.

All events are free to attend, open to all ages. Just turn up and enjoy dance in the heart of your community.
