September's Little Seedlings workshop explores how plants and wildlife are getting ready for winter.

Autumn is full of brilliant colour, and September’s Little Seedlings workshop is all about helping children discover why. We’ll explore why leaves turn green, yellow, orange, red, and purple as the seasons change, how trees and plants get ready for colder days, and why some evergreens keep their colour all year round.

Children will also learn about busy autumn wildlife, from squirrels gathering food to hedgehogs preparing for hibernation, along with simple ways to help their garden and local wildlife through the changing season.

There’ll be interactive discussions, a fun autumn colours quiz, and a hands-on planting activity where each child will plant their own daffodil bulb to take home and enjoy next spring.

This workshop will cover:

* Getting ready for winter.
* The different colours of the season; from glorious green, fiery yellows and oranges, and deep purples and reds.
* Falling brown leaves.

* Helping our gardens.
* Workshop activity – planting daffodils for spring.

* Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
* The Little Seedlings events run on the first Sunday of every month. Times vary per store. Please click on your perferred store below for available options.
* Where stores are running multiple sessions it is the same workshop delivered at each one.
* Parents or guardians wishing to order hot drinks for the session in advance can do so during the booking process.
