Meet your future employers: Networking at the Old Ship Hotel

It's the end of the academic year! The Data-Intensive Science Centre at the University of Sussex (DISCUS) is organising a drinks reception and a chance to meet local employers, who will be looking to hire STEM graduates or offer placements & internships.

Event is open for students at all levelsUndergraduate, Masters, and PhDstudying within the University of Sussexs Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine.

We'll host around 40 local companies, and some of them will give a pitch on what they work on and what working for them is like.
After the pitches, we'll open up the room with drinks and you can network with all the employers who are attending, ask questions and make contacts to support you in developing your career plans.

Do you find networking events stressful?

That's why we're organising the companies to give a pitch - so you can listen first and figure out who you most want to speak with.
We'll also run a 'matching desk' - if you want to speak to a particular person or company and don't get the chance on the night, just let us know. We will arrange an introduction by email after the event and you can take it from there.
