About
Michele Payne is an abstract-expressionist painter with a background in textile design, bringing her passion for colour and pattern to her spontaneous, intuitive paintings. For this exhibition, Michele's paintings are inspired by favourite, often blurry memories and connections, her work incorporating bold colour palettes, expressive mark-making, fragmented buildings, suggested landscapes and nature.
Her art is an attempt to capture the feelings of those memories; beautiful moments that have brought joy, reflection, catharsis or that have held her in times of grief and loss. This latest collection is also a consideration of what it means to belong, what home means to us and how much we need security and connection; to each other and to the natural world as a whole.
