Phun City celebrate the launch of their new EP with a night of original music at The Cellar Arts Club on Saturday 30th May.
Known for their unpredictable blend of art rock, power pop and new wave, Phun City promise an evening of the unexpected melodic hooks colliding with inventive arrangements, theatrical moments, and a healthy dose of mayhem and madness. Featuring the songwriting talents of Rupert Latimer and Paul Sullivan, the band deliver bold, original music that refuses to sit quietly in one genre.
Opening the night (or closing it, depending on which way round we feel on the day!), Beth Sarah performs with her full band, bringing an upbeat set built around her evolving almost theme songs exploring near-misses, almost-love, and the tension between hope and reality. Beth Sarah also appears in the evening as vocalist with Phun City, making this a unique chance to see her in two very different musical worlds.
