About

Welcome to our first Poetry Bee* in Alfriston - an all day event to celebrate everything Poetry!
(*The word Bee means a communal gathering where people come together to work on a shared task)

We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of poetry and spend a day in the beautiful downland village of Alfriston.
The event offers an array of activities which includes:

- The chance to meet local poets
- A Poetry Competition where you can submit your own poem in advance for judging (this is optional)
- Discussion group to review, discuss & vote for the shortlisted poems
- A collaborative workshop to build a poem together
- Learn about Haiku & enter the Haiku competition
- Experience the Poetry Pharmacy - an individual poetry prescription which aims to heal
- Poetry Trail in Alfriston's historic Clergy House (free entry)
- Music and more...
- Refreshments will be included and the option to buy a lunch voucher for just 8.00 OR bring you own OR take lunch in one of the local eateries
