About
Rainbow Shakespeare returns to Highdown Gardens.
Picnic under the stars in one of the most beautiful places in Worthing and its surrounds, and become part of what has become one of the great Sussex traditions.
Bring the family and friends to a unique setting. Sparkling professional actors alongside community performers will bring the plays alive in unforgettable productions of lively, spontaneous, ungimmicky Shakespeare that all ages can understand and enjoy.
This is Rainbow's 25th Season, and they look forward to welcoming you to join in the celebration of live theatre at its very best. This year's double-bill consists of the greatest love story ever told, in the tale of Romeo & Juliet; followed by the hugely entertaining historical murder-spree that is Richard III.
Shakespeare's take on the dastardly rise to power of Richard, Duke of Gloucester. In the aftermath of the Wars of the Roses, Richard subverts King Edward IV from the throne; has the young princes murdered in the Tower of London and manipulates Lady Anne into marrying him. Entertainment with humour, intrigue and battles!
