About

Olúségun is a Lagos-born saxophonist, vocalist, and storyteller leading Olúségun and The Stallion, an Afrocontemporary band rooted in Yoruba culture and the everyday poetry of Lagos life. Raised on family choir sessions and honed in Lagos's studio scene, he channels the horn traditions of highlife and the storytelling weight of jùjú into a sound built for the present.

His music draws a direct line from the golden age of Nigerian bandleaders — the call-and-response phrasing of King Sunny Adé, the social commentary of Ebenezer Obey, the horn-driven urgency of Fela Kuti — filtered through modern Afrobeat production and delivered in both Yoruba and English. The result is layered work that sits comfortably between the dance floor and the concert hall.

Every set explores identity, resilience, joy, and social consciousness, delivered through performances that feel spiritual as much as they feel communal. His storytelling echoes the tradition of the griot while speaking to a distinctly modern African experience.

Olúségun and The Stallion are not just entertainers — they are a movement. Their mission: to awaken, uplift, and unite through music.

"Kutupa Kutupa" — Olúségun's rallying call to his audience, midperformance.
