SALTER CANE
Johnny Cash meets Joy Division: thats one attempt to describe the sound of the legendary post-punk folk-noir band from Brighton who are back with their new album, Deep Black Water.
Formed in the early 2000s, Salter Cane established themselves as an unmissable live act, opening for The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Giant Sand, and more, while also releasing two classic albums; their eponymous debut in 2007, and Sorrow in 2010. Now, with the release of their third album, Deep Black Water, Salter Cane are returning with menacing songs from the depths of the subconscious.
Join them for the album launch at the Hope and Ruin on Saturday, 4th April for an unforgettable evening of magnificent music.
A dark and thrilling mix of Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Sixteen Horsepower and Joy Division. Bloody marvellous! Totally Radio
The kind of haunting slide guitar sounds and vocals that penetrate the mean and soulful receptors of the brain. BBC
THE SELF HELP GROUP
Residing at the crossroads between Folk, Americana, Indie and Pop, The Self Help Group have spent the last 15 years producing critically acclaimed albums and a sackful of great singles.
Lounging on the South Coast of the UK, they remain a great live act as they deliver the band's trademark Americana-influenced vocal harmonies, emotional tales and intertwining melodies.

FIGURE IN THE HALF LIGHT
Figure in the Half Light is the moniker of Brighton-based songwriter Charlie McConnochie.
A captivating live performer, McConnochie combines rich, intricate songwriting with a palette of dark and moody electronic sounds.
Expect dreamy, fractured songs of dark and light reaching for wholeness and carving a path through the bleakness.
