Simon Spillett

About

Simon Spillett has been at the forefront of the UK jazz since the 1990's and his energetic and forthright sound and approach always grabs the audience firmly by the collar! In this concert the theme is the great tenor players of jazz and will feature the famous renditions and compositions of Dexter Gordon, Colman Hawkins, Stan Getz, Ben Webster and Sonny Rollins. The rhythm section is led by London piano virtuoso, Sean Fyfe, and local talents, bassist George Trebar and drummer Pete Cater whose long standing partnership with Simon in their big band tribute to tenor-man Tubby Hayes has seen tours throughout the UK to critical acclaim.
