About

Explore the delicate art of making handmade books with artist Tracey Bush.

Discover two versatile book structures and binding techniques. First, learn how to create a stitched A4 pamphlet book with variable page sizes and pockets, perfect as a notebook or travel journal. Next, learn the adaptable double concertina book, designed to incorporate cut-outs, found images and text to create simple narratives.

Alongside these projects, Tracey will introduce essential studio bindery practices, from understanding paper grain direction to choosing the right glues and tools. A workshop for anyone curious about the craft of bookmaking and its endless creative possibilities.

The day will include an exclusive tour of the modernist home and garden at Charleston, providing a glimpse into its rich artistic history, along with all the materials you'll need to bring your creations to life.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including a delicious lunch made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
