About

This exhibition showcases artworks created by Year 9 pupils from Priory School as part of a series of workshops led by artist and educator Arpita Shah.
Taking place both at Priory School and Charleston in Lewes, the workshops invited students to explore our exhibition programme while reflecting on themes of identity, community and Britishness. Through studio photography, cyanotypes, and collage, they developed their own creative responses, experimenting with different image-making techniques.
Launched in 2023, our Learning and Participation programme collaborates with state-maintained schools, colleges and community organisations to create meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with culture. Through artist-led activities and work experience projects, the programme supports creative exploration and access to the arts for children and young people in the region.
