About

Explore the grounds of Lewes Castle with our self-led Bug & Butterfly Trail, for families and young nature enthusiasts.

Pick up a trail sheet at the entrance and see if you can spot the butterflies and bugs hidden around the Castle grounds in this self-led. All the species featured are ones you can find in Sussex, and you can use the fact files along the trail to help complete your sheet and learn more about local wildlife.

Once you’ve completed the trail, you can choose a small prize, including stickers or sweets (while stocks last).

Included with general admission. Suitable for children of all ages. Pre-booking is not essential.

Please note, Lewes Castle will be closed on 2nd, 9th and 10th August.
