About
The Captain's Beard:
The Captains Beard are a pirate folk rock group from Brighton, (the drinking town with a fishing problem.) Their tunes are a mix of the Pogues meet Tenacious D. Expect songs about beards, awful second hand vans and inappropriate mermaids. They started back in 2012, doing sea shanties WAY before they were cool. Their version of "John Kanakanaka" has over three and a half million streams on streaming platforms and features in the Hollywood movie "Operation Taco Garys." Their first two albums "Same Ship Different Day" and "Completely Tankard" garner tens of thousands of listens every month. They have also won the "best album of 2024" award at the Celtcast awards in the Netherlands for their third album "Cannonballs Deep."
2026 will see them touring the U.K from Edinburgh to Brighton as well as festivals in France, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Germany.
