About

In the quiet village of St. Mary Mead, the arrival of Hollywood actress Marina Gregg and her husband, Jason Rudd, stirs excitement. Theyve purchased Gossington Hall, previously owned by Miss Marples friend Dolly Bantry, and are hosting a grand reception to charm the locals. During the event, a seemingly innocuous villager, Heather Badcock, enthusiastically shares a story with Marina about meeting her years ago. Moments later, Heather collapses and dies after drinking a poisoned cocktail.

Miss Marple, now older and recovering from an injury, takes an interest in the case despite her physical limitations. With help from Dolly Bantry and the local police, led by Inspector Dermot Craddock, she investigates. The poison appears to have been intended for someone else, and Marinas glamorous world of fame and secrets unravels. As Marple digs deeper, she uncovers hidden motives, past tragedies, and personal vendettas, all set against the backdrop of a changing 1960s England where village life meets celebrity culture.

The story explores themes of jealousy, revenge, aging, and the fragility of appearances, with the title referencing a line from Tennysons The Lady of Shalott about a curse and shattered illusions. Marples sharp mind and understanding of human nature drive the narrative to a satisfying resolution, revealing the truth behind the murder.

The seating arrangement is cabaret style (12 tables x 6) and (4 tables x 4)
