Forget the Champagne, this festive season we'll be raising a glass (or 2) of Sussex Sparkling Wine...

Did you know Sussex produces more wine than any other county in the UK? So you may be wondering where to begin! To help get you started we've rounded up some of our favourite producers of Sussex Sparkling Wine and look out for this symbol: 🍾 to find out what we love the most about each vineyard...

Albourne Estate

This family-owned vineyard overlooks the beautiful South Downs so we highly recommend popping into the shop to soak up the views when you pick up your bubbly but don't worry if you're running out of time as you can still order online.

🍾 We love the Multi-Vintage which has the aroma of sweet baked bread, dried apricots, nuts and candied peel – delicious!

Bolney Wine Estate

Bolney have been making sparkling wine for 50 years so you know you are in safe hands here, they even make a sparkling red wine! To find out more why not pop along to their late-night shopping event on the 21st December?

🍾 We love a bottle (or two!) of Bolney Bubbly which sparkles with zesty citrus fruit, honeysuckle, and elderflower.

Court Garden

Looking for the perfect Christmas gift? Then why not delight your friends and family with a voucher for a Wine and Cheese Vineyard Tour at Court Garden, an internationally award-winning family-run, single-estate vineyard, and winery nestled on the northern edge of Ditchling, a pebbles throw from Brighton.

🍾 We love Court Garden Rosé, which has a frothy pale peach hue which is delicious on its own or with perhaps with a few Christmas canapés.

Highweald Wine Estate

Grown in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Sussex, Highweald Estate delivers exceptional wine and is laden with trophies from the International Wine Challenge. Enjoy a tour and tasting then pop into the Garden Bar before buying your Christmas sparkling from the Cellar Door.

🍾 We love Highweald Brut Reserve NV with its delicate bubbles and  aromas of orchard and citrus fruit, toast and spice – perfect served with Christmas lunch!

Kinsbrook Vineyard

For great wine, food and hospitality it’s well worth a visit to Kinsbrook to meet Joe and Rebecca, some of the UK’s youngest wine makers. Pop into the amazing farm shop, deli and butchery – the perfect place to pick up Christmas goodies or book a Sparkling Dinner or Wine + Wreath workshop!

🍾 We love Sparkling White which tastes of apples and baked bread – perfect for celebrating, or just because…

Mannings Heath Golf & Wine Estate

Combining golf, wine and food, Mannings Heath is the perfect place to swirl, sip and savour your wine! With a cornucopia of experiences to book, it’s the perfect place to stock up on last minute gifts; Learn the Art of Sabrage is top of our Christmas List!

🍾 We love a bottle of Benguela Cove Cuvée 58 – it’s not a Sussex Sparking but is jam packed full of heady candied apple, pear and sweetgrass aromas making it a Christmas must buy!

Ridgeview Wine Estate

Just a 20-minute drive from Brighton, Ridgeview offers tours, tastings and drinking and dining by the vines. And by buying certified B Corp, you can be sure you’re creating a better future…

🍾 We love Cavendish NV which is a rich golden colour with super fine bubbles, which perfectly pairs with a Christmas evening charcuterie board.

Stopham Vineyard

Nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Sussex, where craft, precision, passion and sustainability combine to create a vineyard basking in the Sussex sunshine. Book a comprehensive in-depth tour with winemakers Simon or Tom – the perfect Christmas gift!

🍾 We love Stopham Estate Sparkling which is redolent of honeyed brioche with grapefruit and citrus fruits – delicious with a festive seafood platter!

Wiston Estate

Planted in 2006 on flint scattered soils, Wiston’s offering a little early Christmas present for you - all December weekday Tour & Tasting bookings will receive a glass of wine on the house to enjoy with a meal in Chalk, which serves delicious food in glorious setting.

🍾 We love Wiston Brut NV which gives hints of green apples mixed with gooseberry and grapefruit – perfect with aperitifs!

Great British Wine Tours

If you’d like to do your own ‘grand tour’ of the Sussex vineyards, without the need for a designated driver then look no further! Meet with the passionate growers who are putting Sussex wine firmly on the international wine map or perhaps expand your horizons and discover local breweries, distilleries, local food producers and a range of outdoor activities.

🍾 We love the Vintage Bus Wine Tour – a unique Christmas gift!

Cheers!
