About

Located at No 8, Queens Road, Brighton, The Rossi Bar is an independently run grassroots venue that has been operating for just over 4 years. Situated in the heart of Brighton, it can be found straight down the road from the Railway Station just before the Clocktower, in the centre of town. Being of an intimate size, it has the capacity to hold up to 60 patrons in its basement bar live room with an overall venue capacity of 100.

The Rossi Bar prides itself in supporting emerging grassroots artists & promoters. In doing so it has also inadvertently become a social hotspot amongst the thriving scene of bands and musicians in and outside of Brighton. The unofficial green room of the Brighton scene, a Rossi Bar ‘pre and post gig cocktail’ have become a must for many bands making their way into the city. Having hosted after show parties for the likes of Demob Happy (plus MANY unofficial and impromptu gatherings for some of the busiest events in Brighton), The Rossi Bar is home to some of the city's most established bands and members of the creative community. With its love for niche genres combined with incubating new talent, this cocktail bar/music venue has organically become the place where everyone wants to be.

The Rossi Bar’s main ethos is to nurture some of the newer bands & artists that often get overlooked due to a lack of professional experience. In providing an intimate platform where they can foster their talents and (often) perform their first gig, helping them to build their local audience whilst gaining practical experience in the industry. With a diverse audience growing in attendance, and a variety of performances from a grassroots level. We host a range of events including, and not limited to; Poetry and spoken word, Hip-Hop, Art exhibitions, Acoustic Nights, Punk/Indie/Metal Nights, Experimental Electronica, and more. The events we host at The Rossi Bar is a reflection of our values, this venue is a safe space in which everyone is given equal respect.

It has been a pleasure to watch a wealth of local and national bands come into their own, and for The Rossi Bar to be part of their journey, hosting wonderful artists such as LYNKS, Lambrini Girls, BILK, Hutch, SNAYX, Orchards and Vanity Fairy to name a few.

As well as hosting live music events, The Rossi Bar is also available to hire out for private parties, special events or DJ nights. The bar serves a vast selection of cocktails, beers, hot drinks and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy. We are happy to cater to allergy sufferers, and dietary requirements, just let our bar staff know, and they’ll be happy to help!

We are a regular host to The Great Escape festival events which include seminars, vital discussions about different parts of the music industry, band showcases, and industry networking. As well as hosting official Great Escape talks and seminars we programme a wonderful selection of free entry late night live music across The Great Escape weekend for anyone in the city to enjoy.

Accessibility:

The ground floor of the venue is all one-level access with double doors wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs access. While the ground level bar is perfect for grabbing a Cocktail, unfortunately the live room is in the basement, located down a spiral staircase, so please be aware this maybe an issue for anyone who needs mobility access to catch our gigs. We apologise profusely about this; the building is old and we aren’t able to make the adjustments required to make the space fully accessible. If you do have any access questions, we would be more than happy to help, please email us at: access@therossibar.co.uk

Please contact the venue at: info@therossibar.co.uk with any questions you may have.
