About
Minds Eye Promotions Eastbourne returns with its April edition of Monthly showcase nights with something of a Pop Art experience titled Art..or is it just a banana
Inspired by the banana on the wall art piece for reasons unknown (though largely due to wanting a colourful poster) Musical acts for this edition:
Be Kind Cadaver- lyrically poignant angular art punks who bring the delivery of a desperation filled Nick Cave suffocating at the weight of society's expectations, and its abandonment of good people.
The Phone Call- Psychedelic-Garagerock-Dance-Pop from London, akin to talking heads on a krautrock themed dream/nightmare. Danceable grooves laden with a suitably weird strut.
Cicada- welcome to the stage for the very first time these local fuzz thumper's who appear to sit somewhere between Dinosaur Jr and the Artic Monkeys, but with a melodic bent reminiscent of early Beatles minus an obsession with themes of love
Performing in the Lobby: Tellums providing songs that revel in the worlds of pastel pop rock and delivered with pure honesty and a quality and commitment to his craft not often seen on stages these days. It's always a joy to watch this guy hold a room in his hands with grace and panache.
