About

Five day children's opera workshop with ex Glyndebourne opera singer Mark and composer Chris from Monday 4th - Friday 8th August.

Songwriting, scene painting, acting, singing, story writing, set and costume design, mask making, performing!

Build an Opera is a completely unique Summer holiday course that runs from Monday 4th- Friday 8th August 2025. Our venue is one of Sussex's biggest and most beautiful barns on the edge of the South Downs National Park in historic hamlet of Sullington.

Children will get stuck into a world of creativity with tips on singing technique, costumes and sets to design, songs to write, sounds to discover and a story to make. Aided by professional opera singer Mark Bradbury, an actor musican/ director, a scenic artist and professional composer Christopher Hussey, participants devise, compose, design, paint, and perform a brand new piece of musical theatre in just one week.

Each day will run from 9:30am- 4pm, apart from the Friday when participants will remain on site until a 6pm performance for families and friends to enjoy, followed by a family picnic at the farm.
