Event Information:
We would like to invite you to come and celebrate the launch of our newly established Centre for Environment and Society (CES). The centre has been created to foster interdisciplinary research into pressing environmental, health and societal challenges, particularly those arising from climate change. The research and knowledge exchange expertise of centre members falls under five broad themes, namely:
* Water, health and humans;
* People, nature and place;
* Geoscience and society;
* Ecology and conservation; and
* Environmental data and spatial intelligence.
This launch event will consist of an introduction to the centre, followed by brief presentations from external guest speakers, and our members providing a flavour of research breadth. The event will also provide an opportunity to network and to forge future alliances. Food and refreshments will also be served during the afternoon and there will be time to network.
The event will take place in the Huxley Foyer and in the adjoining Huxley 300 Lecture theatre at the University of Brightons Moulsecoomb site (next to Moulsecoomb railway station).
Arrival from 12.30pm for 1pm start. Free parking is available on site (please contact the organiser envsocore@brighton.ac.uk)
Please signup to ensure your free place at the Centre for Environment and Society (CES) inaugural launch event on Fri 27th June 2025 (1-5pm) taking place at the University of Brightons Huxley Building (Moulsecoomb campus)
If you have any queries then please dont hesitate to contact at the Centre for Environment and Society EnvSocCORE@brighton.ac.uk
Best regards
James and Corina (Co-directors of CES)
