About
A festive lunchtime celebration of sound, story, and symbolism to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse. A vibrant yet grounding cultural experience blending live traditional Chinese music, storytelling, and hands-on craft.
The session opens with live Chinese New Year–themed music played on traditional instruments such as the guzheng. The melodies are joyful and ceremonial, creating a celebratory atmosphere while remaining calming and spacious - a moment to pause, arrive, and mark the season together.
This opening reflects the essence of Flying Bear House - a creative studio offering mindful cultural wellbeing experiences rooted in tradition, sound, and storytelling.
The second half is a guided lucky knot workshop, where making becomes meaning. As you learn to form this iconic Chinese New Year symbol, you’ll also be immersed in its cultural story - the history, folklore, and symbolism behind why lucky knots represent protection, continuity, good fortune, and blessings for the year ahead.
Each guest will leave with a handcrafted lucky knot charm - a vibrant, symbolic keepsake to carry into the Year of the Fire Horse, whether worn, gifted, or placed at home as a New Year blessing.
