About

Join us for a day-long workshop where you'll create a unique, painted garden journal inspired by the iconic house and garden at Charleston.

Your experience begins with a guided tour of the historic Charleston house, rich with artistic heritage, bold patterns and expressive colour. This immersive visit will provide the creative context for your journal, as you gather visual inspiration from the interiors and artworks.

Then, step into Charleston's celebrated garden to begin journaling in nature. You'll collect sketches, patterns, observations and photographs focusing on the botanical details and seasonal beauty that speaks to you. Through guided exercises, Shilpa will help you develop your eye, deepen your attention, and discover personal themes within the space.

After a lunch break, you'll bring your notes and sketches together into a mini, four-page garden journal. Using watercolour, ink and pencil, you'll transform your impressions into a beautifully crafted, expressive keepsake-unique to your day at Charleston.
