Damian Barr The Two Roberts

About

Scotland, 1933 and Bobby MacBryde is off to Glasgow School of Art. On his first day, he will meet Robert Colquhoun and never leave his side. With the world on the brink of war, their unrivalled artistic talent takes them all over Europe, partying, loving, fighting and always painting.

Based on a true story, The Two Roberts is a tale of devotion and obsession, art and class.

David Nicholls said of it: Epic and touching, and a revelation in its rediscovery of MacBryde and Colquhoun. Damian came to the first Cuckfield Bookfest with his award-winning memoir Maggie and Me so we are delighted to welcome him to our tenth anniversary celebration. His renowned Literary Salon ran for 15 years, and his Big Scottish Book Club brought books to television. Damian has a PhD in Creative Writing and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
