Come and discover the joy of throwing on the potter’s wheel with Hot Fox Pottery!

A completely different experience from hand-building, throwing is slippery, a bit tricky, and a lot of fun.

In this relaxed three-hour workshop, we’ll demonstrate the key steps before giving you the chance to sit at the wheel and make a few pots of your own. Each person will have their own wheel for the full session.

You’ll learn how to centre the clay, open it out, pull up the walls, and shape it into a pot. We’ll then dry off your pieces so you can trim and refine them — giving you a taste of the full throwing process and the chance to make each pot truly your own.

Throwing is a skill that takes time to master, so think beautiful little bowls rather than giant vases on your first go — perfect for dips, olives, or simply admiring on a shelf.

After the session, your pieces will be fired and glazed in a colour of your choice. You can collect them later, or we can post them if you’re not local.

This workshop is ideal for couples, friends, or anyone looking for a creative and relaxed experience for two.

Workshops usually run from 10am–1pm or 2–5pm, but let me know if you want another time and I will see what I can do! We also do full-day sessions, with lunch included, if you are looking for a longer experience.
