Start Your Weekend with Style – Saturday Brunch with Live Jazz at The Old Workshop Café
Join us for a vibrant morning of live music and great food at The Old Workshop Café as we present the much-anticipated Saturday Brunch with Big House. Kick off your weekend in the best way—with soulful, melodic jazz and a warm, lively atmosphere.
Big House is led by Mike Carey (piano) and Mike Comber (double bass), joined for this special event by guest percussionist and vibraphonist Jim Bernardin. The band originally formed during the Jazz at the Jailhouse sessions in Arundel, where they played as the resident house band supporting a range of guest artists. About six years ago, the group broke out on their own, creating an exciting, melodic, and accessible jazz-infused music that's both fresh and rooted in tradition.
Their music blends original compositions with inventive takes on jazz standards—always delivered with energy, creativity, and a sense of fun. Big House has released four albums (including a live album of reimagined Duke Ellington tunes), an EP, and has a rich archive of original work ready to be recorded.
