About

Noted speakers, will be exploring nature in the local area and Sullington through the ages in the beautiful 16th century Old Workshop.

Joe Thompson, has over 40 years’ experience in the conservation of historic timber-framed buildings. He has led on both of the Weald & Downland Museum’s MSc programmes since 1998. He also delivers a wide variety of specialist practical courses on historic carpentry practice at the Museum. Joe has detailed knowledge of the ancient buildings at Sullington Manor Farm which he includes in the MSc course.

Gail Kittle has a thorough knowledge of the context and history of ancient buildings at the farm. She has studied a Postgraduate Certificate in Architectural History at Oxford University using the buildings of Sullington as her core material.

Each speaker will talk for roughly half an hour. There will then be a joint Q&A session and we’ll be providing yummy tea and cake afterwards. We are really excited to host both speakers and we know this will be a really fun and informative afternoon.
