About
While it bears the sonic landmarks of roots music's most fertile ground, the songwriting of **Sam Lewis** is born of a landscape that can only be felt, not seen. His music is native to the infinite expanse that is exposed when human attention is full, and focused inward - harvested solely by the nuanced rhythm of love. Sam's songs are rooted in the energy that defines this harmonious frontier, the space that unifies the human experience in each of us. It's the anchored spirit in this incubated territory of soul for which Sam Lewis works to celebrate and elevate with the tones of rock & roll, rhythm & blues and a country-folk muse.
With special guests:
After being forced into hibernation by the long winter, Lucky Strikes frontman **Matthew Boulter** emerges with his second album of glorious, gentle, life-affirming songs to take us into Summer. The Water Or The Wave features eleven original songs, conceived on the road at various folk club and festival shows throughout the past year and given life beside the grassy marshland and mudflats of his South Essex home on the Thames Delta.
**The Wilsons** are a 6 piece band based in Suffolk, UK. They have been described as a Very British Americana but would probably say they were alt.country, whatever that means although the phrase desert rock was thrown at them one drunken evening.
**The Flat Mountain Family** is a fantastic 4 piece group consisting of banjo, double bass, mandolin, and guitar, playing everything from classic bluegrass to modern hits with a brilliant bluegrass twist. This energetic quartet have been playing together for the past year but 3 of the 4 members have been playing together in Colchester's finest folk/punk band Saltdogs for 15 years. Perfect for any occasion and we have no doubt that even the most sombre of gig-goers will not be able to keep their feet from tapping.
