The World’s Oldest Operating Electric Railway, opened in 1883, now over 140 years old! Winner of Heritage Railway of the Year Award 2024. Be whisked away on one of our heritage trains and journey on our mile long track running besides Brighton’s beautiful beach front. A perfect trip for families, those who have a passion for Brighton’s history, an enthusiasm for trains or if you simply want to sit back and enjoy the view. Join us on the unique Volk’s Electric Railway, a feat of Victorian engineering.
No need to pre book just turn up and ride.
Make sure to check out our museum at Aquarium Station-Visitor Centre. Where you can learn about the railway’s history and the pioneering spirit of Magnus Volk. Along with his other one-of-a-kind inventions.
