About

The Brighon Music Walk of Fame

The Brighton Music Walk of Fame has been created by Walk of Fame Media Limited (WOFM) in a joint venture with Brighton Palace Pier to establish the ‘Brighton Music Walk of Fame as a permanent ‘free to view’ cultural attraction. The attraction creates the UK’s first digitally interactive pier with the help of Shazam, the popular recognition app.

The new interactive digital experience utilising Shazam’s technology along Brighton Pier pays homage to the many famous stars and musicians associated with the City of Brighton and Sussex over the past 50 years.

From The Who and Abba to Rag & Bone Man and James Bay, the Walk allows tourists and visitors to interact with specially created music plaques along the Pier using Shazam’s visual recognition technology. By scanning Shazam Codes on the plaques, passers-by can activate a digital Walk of Fame experience on their smartphones and access unique content and music from those artists inducted.

WOFM is the media and commercial operating business of Walk of Fame Ltd. WOFM was co-founded by David Courtney (CEO) Bryan Hoare (Director) and Nicholas Taylor.

WOFM is responsible for creating and managing many of Walk of Fame's projects across the UK as well as establishing new products and experiences linked to the Walk of Fame brand. David Courtney and Bryan Hoare are the driving force behind a variety of new creative ideas to enhance the Walk of Fame brand across a range of markets including sport, music, culture, the arts, media and business. Combining traditional elements of the Walk of Fame concept with digital technology, Walk of Fame Media are working on numerous projects that will bring the Walk of Fame experience to new levels of interaction and engagement.
