An Evening of Poetry and Jazz

About

Join us at St Margaret's Church, Warnham, for a sparkling evening of poetry, music and celebration.

We're delighted to welcome multi‑award‑winning writer, comedian, broadcaster and poet Robin Ince as this year's headline guest. Fans of the hit BBC Radio 4 show The Infinite Monkey Cage, which Robin co‑presented for many years, will know they're in for something special.

The evening opens with a showcase of the winning poems from our International Poetry Competition; this is always one of the most inspiring moments in our calendar and we are thrilled that Sussex poet and Steyning festival legend Simon Zec will once again be handing out the prizes and hosting this section of the evening.

The first half concludes with music from the extraordinary Brighton‑based jazz duo Sloth in the City, whose performance will echo this year's competition theme: liberty.

Our host for the night is BBC legend and SMP supporter Chris Aldridge, guiding us through the programme with his unrivalled warmth and wit.

At the end of the evening, Robin will be available for book signings.
