About

'I remember the chill autumn days, the air heavy with the smell of bonfires and dusk, damp mulch of leaves underfoot.'

The landscape of Sussex is woven through Kate Mosse's memories, stories and imagination.

In her new book 'Autumn', she returns to the marshes and coastline of her Sussex childhood as the season turns: misty mornings, migrating birds, sea lavender, and woodsmoke. Exploring the folklore, wildlife and rituals of autumn, she finds stories in the landscape, and inspiration in the changing natural world.

Part nature writing, part memoir and part love letter to Sussex, 'Autumn' is an atmospheric celebration of a season, a place and the power of paying attention.
