Brighton College Tour

About

We are very excited and grateful to Brighton College for offering this unique opportunity for a Sussex Heritage Trust tour of the campus. Brighton College has been the recipient of four Sussex Heritage Trust Awards, which include the Cairns Tower in 2015, the Music School in 2016, the Kai Yong Yeoh Building in 2018 and the School of Science and Sport in 2020. There is no other school that has received so many accolades for its architecture and design through our Awards scheme.

The tour will involve an initial presentation in the Chapel, to provide colour and insight into the history of the college by their archivist, James Harrison. This will be followed by a walk around the campus, with a penultimate stop at the School of Sports and Science, where the Group Bursar, Paul Westbrook, will share the Colleges approach to master planning and run through the more recent developments. We will then have a chance to visit to the Colleges newest building the Richard Cairns Theatre. [Paul has said he and James are very happy to take any questions during the afternoon, so please do take advantage.]

Accessibility
Please note that the tour will involve moving between the buildings, however there is disabled parking onsite should there be a need for it - please contact office@sussexeritagetrust.org.uk if you wish to discuss access details. There is limited parking onsite, and higher car numbers will mean lower visibility of the heritage details.
