About
Dive into the delicious world of pickling and fermentation with MasterChef Champion Kenny Tutt!
In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transform everyday vegetables into punchy pickles, fiery kimchi, and gut-friendly ferments — plus an introduction to brewing your own kombucha at home.
We’ll explore the basics of safe fermentation, flavour balancing, and simple preservation techniques that have been used for generations. You’ll also discover how adding acidity to a dish can completely elevate a plate of food, bringing brightness, depth, contrast, and that irresistible “one more bite” feeling that makes flavours pop.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already ferment-curious, you’ll leave with new skills, tasty recipes, and the confidence to start bubbling away in your own kitchen.
The day will include learning & making: -
Pink pickled onion and fennel
Lacto fermented carrot, ginger & chilli
Authentic Kimchi
Brewing kombucha safely and successfully, including SCOBY care, fermentation timing, flavouring, and bottling.
Kenny's warm, friendly informal style makes for a fun informative few hours, then a chance to enjoy a casual relaxed delicious 2 course lunch with plenty of time for extra Q&A's with Kenny.
The morning starts with a welcome coffee/tea & cookies from 10.30am and then the demonstration will commence at 11am and run for approx. 2 - 2.5 hours, with time for Q&A's. You will then be able to enjoy a delicious lunch with a choice of wine, Kombucha or soft drink, coffee/tea included and your pickles to take home too!
We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy time with this talented, inspiring MasterChef!
