Pay What You Can day comes to Charleston in Firle

We offer monthly Pay What You Can days on the last Sunday of each month. From October, you can do this at Charleston in Firle as well as Charleston in Lewes.

Our first Pay What You Can Day in Firle is on Sunday 25 October. Charleston in Lewes is closed that day while we install our new exhibitions. From November, Pay What You Can Day will run at both sites.

2026 Dates:

Sunday 25 October 2026 - Charleston in Firle only

Sunday 29 November 2026 - Charleston in Firle and Charleston in Lewes

Sunday 27 December 2026 - Charleston in Firle and Charleston in Lewes

How it works

Buy your ticket at the door on the day and pay what you choose.

To guarantee entry, book online in advance.

You can travel to Charleston in Firle for Pay What You Can days on the Sussex Art Shuttle, our hop-on-hop-off bus running between Eastbourne and Lewes. See the route and timetable

Free family workshops

As part of Pay What You Can Day, there will also be a FREE family-friendly art workshop. Take inspiration from our exhibitions and create your own masterpiece to take home with you. Each session we will experiment with different materials and learn new skills.
