Pour Your Own Brighton Seascape in Resin

About

Capture the colours and textures of the Sussex coast in a hands-on resin workshop inspired by Brighton’s ever-changing shoreline.

This experience is part of City Uncovered: Brighton, taking place from 1st–14th June 2026 — a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.

Hosted at the cosy Oceanic Woodstore studio in nearby Newhaven, this beginner-friendly creative workshop invites you to slow down, get hands-on and create your own set of ocean-inspired resin coasters using reclaimed wood and epoxy resin.

Guided by expert maker Jim, you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with resin while experimenting with colour, layering and wave effects to recreate the look of crashing surf and shifting tides. Using reclaimed wood bases, pigments and resin techniques inspired by the Sussex coastline, you’ll craft four unique seascape coasters that reflect Brighton’s coastal atmosphere in your own style.

Along the way, you’ll hear about the creative process behind resin art, discover how reclaimed materials are transformed into functional artwork and enjoy a relaxed studio atmosphere designed for complete beginners and curious creatives alike.

Once your designs are complete, the coasters will be left to cure before being carefully finished and delivered straight to your door — ready to bring a little piece of the coast into your home.
