About
Anglo-Irish alt-country folksters, The Mountain Firework Company first came together over heartache and wine (above a pub) to create what has been described as "gorgeous folk/alt country pop, with equal parts darknes and cheeky humour" and "alternative bluegrass with a dark treacle folk centre".
Described as "Celtic bedsit bluegrass", their unique brand of folk/Americana is built on the solid foundations of American mountain music but with an added twist of Celtic folk and a dash of bedsit singer songwriter angst. The band bristles with energy and vitality, combining traditional acoustic instrumentation (guitars, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, double bass and added beef from a drumkit).
