About

Wind in Their Sails: Textile Art, Folk Traditions and Women’s Stories Come to Rottingdean Windmill. The Wind in Their Sails event looks between the sheets, following the threads and re-stitching the narratives of women’s domestic crafts, histories and myths. Up at the old windmill in Rottingdean, we will be breathing the wind back into her sails with an exhibition of textile arts and live, original literature. From the domestic to the divine, this will be a celebration of female resilience. Their skirts will billow.

Its an exhibition and live event, with literary readings by women authors, organised by Michelle Porter, a writer and teacher from Lewes. Plus we will have early morning Morris dancing, folk singers, a Mummers Play and also some singing from Brighton Folk Choir!
