About

Housedean Farm is a traditional South Downs farm, where the family have farmed arable and livestock for the last 60 years. The farm and campsite is situated about 4 miles from Lewes and 6 miles from Brighton and is located directly on the South Downs Way, meaning we are ideally placed for walkers and cyclists. Our location is unique in the eastern part of the South Down Way because walkers/cyclists don't have to drop down from the top of the Downs and walk back up the next day!

We are very well placed for those who are visiting Brighton as a frequent (every 15-20 minutes) bus service stops directly outside the campsite and runs to and from the City.

We pride ourselves on a laid back atmosphere and there are amazing views of the South Downs from every pitch. There are 26 spacious pitches, each with its own fire pit for campfires and we have two bell tents available to hire.

The site has excellent flushing loos (that we keep scrupulously clean!), 3 hot showers in separate wooden enclosures (1 of which is open air), a washing up shelter with hot water and communal fridge and freezer. We also now have mountain bike hire available on site! Call for details.

Shepherd's Hut.

We also now have a beautiful Shepherd's Hut to hire. The Hut is an original South Downs Hut, fully furnished with a double bed, single bed and wood burning stove. The Hut is provided with bedding, cooking equipment, a gas stove and a fire pit.
