The Plays:

Handbagged by Moira Buffini, directed by Chris Purtill-Ball

The monarch. Her most powerful subject. Two women meet once a week for eleven years. One believes there is no such thing as society. The other has vowed to serve it. Moira Buffinis wickedly funny hit comedy imagines what the worlds most powerful women, Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth II, talked about behind closed palace doors.

Lockdown in Little Grimley by David Tristram, directed by Lynda Brown

The fifth play in David Tristrams popular series, Lockdown in Little Grimley follows the antics of a hapless amateur dramatic society as they meet to discuss their comeback production, a touching romance set in an NHS hospital complete with social distancing.

Aria Da Capo by Edna St Vincent Millay, directed by Richard Harvey

Despite being over a hundred years old, Aria Da Capo is a timeless masterpiece that universally portrays the human condition whilst subtly imparting the futility of war in the most poetic of ways. With the simplest of staging, Millay employs a commedia dellarte harlequinade to bookend a pastoral that both captivates and entertains the audience.

Commuters by Natasha Graves, directed by Natasha Graves

Have you ever looked at those around you on your morning commute and wondered just what is going on inside their heads? Commuters invites you to step into the minds of six commuters and a ticket inspector, revealing their deepest hopes and exposing their most vulnerable truths. This witty and thought-provoking piece is set to debut at Burgess Hill Fringe 2025.

These amateur productions of "Lockdown in Little Grimley" and "Aria Da Capo" are presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
