About

South Downs Stage is excited to welcome Light Fantastic! to Kingston Parish Hall - a madcap musical comedy about light, science and friendship.

Thirty years ago, childhood friends Rod and Iris played an ill-fated gig at their school science fair. Today their band is reuniting for a one-off anniversary extravaganza. Will their experiment succeed, or will uncontrolled variables force them to abandon their hypothesis?

The music is a mix of electronic dance music, rap and pop – think Daft Punk or the Chemical Brothers. The science is fact-checked by Diamond Light Source and Sussex University, and aligns with the national curriculum for 11-14 year olds, though the show will be enjoyed by all ages from 7 to adult.

‘Light Fantastic!’ is the brand new show by Ensonglopedia. It is written and performed by award-winning Lewes-based science-singer-songwriter John Hinton, and award-winning local comedian/performer Laura Mugridge.
