About

University Radio Falmer celebrates 50 years of broadcasting through a collaboration with PATCH, with an evening of esoteric sounds born from Brighton's underground electronic scene. Off The Record is a toast to URF's legacy, drawing on the talent that has grown from the radio, the university, and the local area around it. The night is conceived as a single, unbroken experience, a slow build from stillness to full body movement.

Religious Figures - Isaac Ide's ambient project opens the night, drawing inspiration from composers such as William Basinski, Sarah Davachi and Kali Malone. This performance unfolds in collaboration with visual artist Em Walker, with shifting visuals and sound transforming the room into a meditative field of resonance and light.

Jim A. Burns follows, bringing a raw and destructive energy to the space. A side project to his widely followed Robinson's Village alias, this set draws on feedbacking acoustic guitars, cassette tapes and drum machines.

Heather She Having spent eight years touring as a musician in shoegaze and ethereal dreampop band Hanya, Heather She brings an exceptionally broad and well-travelled ear to the decks.

Will Penn A DJ and producer based in Birmingham via Brighton, Penn runs Tight Chest Records, a label focused on leftfield techno and UK sounds, and heads up the DIY party Visible Panic. Expect minimal and slowed techno giving way to dub, breaks and high energy club music.
