About
Step away from the busy seafront and discover the edible plants, sea herbs and hidden natural treasures growing along Brighton’s coastline.
This experience is part of City Uncovered: Brighton, taking place from 1st–14th June 2026 — a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.
Led by an experienced foraging guide, this coastal walking experience invites you to slow down and see the shoreline through completely new eyes. As you explore Brighton’s beaches, cliff paths and tidal edges, you’ll learn how to identify wild edible ingredients growing naturally along the coast — from seaweeds and coastal herbs to overlooked plants hiding in plain sight.
Along the route, your host will share fascinating insight into seasonal foraging, sustainable harvesting and the history of wild food traditions connected to the Sussex coastline. You’ll discover how the landscape changes throughout the year, how to forage responsibly and how these ingredients can be used in everyday cooking.
More than just a walk, this experience offers a chance to reconnect with nature, tune into the rhythms of the coast and uncover a quieter, wilder side of Brighton that many people never notice.
Expect sea air, hidden flavours and a completely different perspective on the coastline.
