Vineyards & Breweries in Brighton
Brighton & Hove is a short bus ride from the stunning Sussex countryside and the South Downs National Park which provides ideal conditions for growing vines and making English wine.
The county of Sussex is home to the largest number of vineyards in the country and the sparkling wine that is being produced is starting to rival Champagne! Visiting vineyards makes for a great day out as they are only moments from the centre but the tranquil settings make for a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. And you get to try some delicious drinks.
It's not all about wine though as more and more people are appreciating real ale and craft beers. The biggest local brewer is Harvey's based in Lewes - look out for their horse and dray making deliveries in the city centre! Other local ales to look out for in Brighton pubs are Longman; Dark Star and Brighton Bier brewed in the city centre. Don't forget to check out the annual Sussex Beer Festival usually in March.
