Show your support and vote for your favourite places to eat and drink locally - as well as supporting local businesses you'll also have a  chance to win £200 to spend at the venue of your choice.

To cast your vote go to: brightonrestaurantawards.co.uk

Although if you're not sure who to vote for then join us as we take a look at each category and suggest a couple of possible contenders...

Best Restaurant

This is the big one which has been won by Burnt Orange for two years in a row but will they score a hatrick? Or perhaps veggie pioneers Terre a Terre will take the crown? The Chilli Pickle is another strong contender as is the sylish Cyan at The Grand

Best Sussex Restaurant

Brighton is a great base for exploring the stunning county of Sussex and along with plenty of things to do and places to visit there are also some excellent restaurants. But which will get your vote? Perhaps it will be the Michelin Star dining expereince at Interlude or maybe you prefer a restaurant attached to a vineyard such as Albourne Estate or will the Vineyard Kitchen Restaurant at Mannings Heath win you over?

Best Lunch

Why settle for a sad sandwich at your desk when the city is full of fantastic foodie options to fuel you up for the afternoon? Will you vote for the variety of options at Shelter Hall food market? Perhaps you prefer the mediterranean flavours at Vios or maybe the fine-dining experience at Dilsk

Best Vegan Food

Brighton is recognised as one of the most vegan-friendly cities but which is your favourite? Will you vote for pizzas at Purezza, the Indian flavours of Curry Leaf Cafe or perhaps Terre a Terre tops the bill.

Best Cocktails

Whether you fancy a Cuba Libre, Mojito or a Daiquiri you'll be spoilt for choice in Brighton. This category is sponsored by Goldstone Rum which is perhaps why I was drawn to rum cocktails but don't worry you can find all sorts of cocktails across the city but which bar will you be toasting? Will it be Arcobaleno or perhaps The Flipside or maybe The Southern Belle

Most Family Friendly

Will the tasty Greek kids menu at Nostos help them win a second year in a row or will someone else get your vote this year? Perhaps it will be pizzas at Fatto a Mano or maybe you love a family breakfast at Flour Pot?

Best Team

This will be a tough one as we're always inspired by the hard-work, passion and enthusiam of our food & drink partners but who will get your vote? Who gave you the warmest welcome on your last visit? Perhaps last year's winners The Salt Room will be beaten by one of their sister restaurants this year - Burnt Orange or The Coal Shed.

Best Takeaway

While we love the expereince of dining out sometimes we need to dine in and we do not want to cook! But which is your go to takeaway? Is it the classic fish 'n' chips from Palm Court or do you prefer one of Bagelman's bagels or maybe something spicy from Permit Room

Best Sussex Pub

I love a walk in the countryside and we all know the best walks end at a pub! But which one gets your vote? Perhaps The Jolly Sportsman in the South Downs National Park is your pub of choice.

Best Sunday Roast

We think this one is going to cause a debate! Do you prefer the traditional Sunday Roast in a pub such as The Basket Makers or maybe it'll be a sharing roast at The Coal Shed or Cyan that gets your vote?

Best Wine List

When thinking of wine it's only natural to think of Hotel du Vin but their's is not the only restaurant with an excellent wine list, Furna has its own walk-in wine cellar and Riddle & Finns feature Sussex-based Court Garden on their wine list.

Best International Food

This is another one that could cause some arguments, but will you back the Asian flavours at The Chilli Pickle or perhaps you prefer a taste of Italy at Al Duomo or maybe Malayasian meals at Bali Brasserie will win your vote.

Most Sustainable

A good night out can still be sustainable but which venue do you think is the most sustainable? Will Moshimo's commitment to sustainable fishing hook you in or do you love Trading Post's hand-roasted coffee?

Eat Well For Less

Even when budgets are tight there is no need to skimp on quality. But where is your top value for money place to dine? Do you love Ten Pound Tuesdays at Cin Cin or is Foodlic the place to go when you want to eat well for less?

Best Brighton Pub

There are pubs in Brighton to suit any mood but do you tend to go to the iconic Cricketers or perhaps you head to the tap room to try the newest release from UnBarred?

Best Brighton Cafe

Cafe Culture is a flourishing part of the city's offer but only one can win! Will it be the art deco style of Metrodeco or perhaps you'll vote for either the quirky Cup of Joe or the contemporary Lost in the Lanes

Best Brunch

Brightonians are rarely up in time for breakfast which is why many prefer a spot of brunch instead. But will you vote for French Toast at LOST or perhaps pastries at Post House

Best Coffee

If you're lookin for a flavoursome boost of caffeine then you could head to Vios or perhaps Café Domenica will get your vote?

Hopefully we've given you some food for thought (sorry!) but if you're not still not sure who to vote for then it sounds like you've got an excuse for a lovely meal out. Please show your love and support for our amazing friends in hospitality, even after you've voted keep sharing and encouraging others to vote too.

Don't forget in addition to supporting the businesses by voting you'll have a chance to win £200 to spend at the venue of their choice.
